Rock Multifamily Advisors Returns as Multifamily Division of Harris Tynes Commercial Real Estate

Harris Tynes Commercial Real Estate today announced the launch of Rock Multifamily Advisors, restoring the name of the multifamily brokerage firm founded in Birmingham in 2003 and marking the next chapter for the team formerly operating as Harbert Multifamily Advisors.

Rock Multifamily Advisors will operate as the dedicated multifamily division of Harris Tynes Commercial Real Estate, providing investment sales and advisory services to multifamily owners and investors throughout the Southeast. The division is led by brokers Bo Gresham and Bishop Escue.

The return of the Rock name brings the business full circle.

Originally founded as Rock Apartment Advisors in 2003, the firm established a strong reputation as a specialized apartment brokerage and advisory firm serving clients throughout the Southeast. Following its acquisition by Harbert Realty Services, Rock Apartment Advisors was rebranded as Harbert Multifamily Advisors in 2019, reflecting its affiliation with the broader Harbert organization.

In August 2026, Norman Tynes and West Harris acquired Harbert Realty Services, returning the commercial real estate company to independent ownership and reestablishing it as Harris Tynes Commercial Real Estate. As part of that transition, the multifamily team is returning to its roots with the Rock name while continuing to operate within the Harris Tynes platform.

“Bringing back the Rock name is about recognizing the history and reputation that were built over more than two decades while also looking toward the future,” said West Harris, President of Harris Tynes CRE. “Rock has longstanding recognition in the multifamily investment community, and we are excited to carry that legacy forward with the independence, resources and relationships of Harris Tynes behind us.”

The Rock Multifamily Advisors name reflects the continuity of a business that has remained focused on multifamily real estate through multiple chapters of ownership and branding. The team will continue serving private and institutional multifamily owners and investors, with a focus on building long-term relationships and helping clients maximize value throughout the investment lifecycle.
